Session Guitarist & Oboeist ~ Madison, WI

Studio-Quality Session Work for Guitar & Oboe

A SESSION ARTIST WHO CAN DELIVER

When your project needs a musician who can deliver, not just perform, the difference is in the training. With a Master’s in Music Composition, international touring credits, and decades of recording experience, I bring academic precision and real-world versatility to every session. I’m not a one-trick player — I bring multi-instrumental range, deep music theory knowledge, and the ability to contribute to a project at the arrangement level if needed.

What I Can Offer Your Project

Serious About the Work. Easy to Work With.

Every session has its own set of variables: the style, the tempo, the direction you want to take it, and what the track actually needs. I’ve been navigating those variables in recording environments for decades. Send me the details of your project and I’ll come back with a straightforward quote and a clear plan.

Studio

I have the equipment necessary to handle the projects I take on. For sessions that call for a formal studio environment, I can record with you in your studio. For remote work that requires a professional studio, I have working relationships with several professional studios in the Madison area and can record on-site when the project requires it.

Gear

I have all of the proper gear for recording guitar, oboe, piano, and ukulele in my home studio. If your project has specific gear requirements, I can source what’s needed. That flexibility is part of working with someone who has been in professional recording environments long enough to know what’s out there and how to get it.

SESSION RECORDING FAQ

Remote session work is available for most projects. I record my parts and deliver files directly to you, regardless of where you’re located. If you prefer an in-person session, I also have access to professional studio space in Madison.

Guitar is my primary instrument, but I also record oboe, piano, and ukulele. I also bring composition and arrangement expertise, so if your project needs more than a single tracked part, that’s something we can discuss.

My range covers classical, rock, metal, jazz, blues, neoclassical, and video game music, among others. If you have a specific style or reference tracks in mind, send them over, that’s the fastest way to determine whether I’m the right fit for your project.
Reach out with the details of your project — what you need, the style, any reference tracks, and your timeline. I’ll respond with a straightforward assessment and a quote based on the scope of the work.
I’ll provide multiple takes where it makes sense so you have options to work with in the edit. Specific revision terms are discussed and agreed upon at the time of booking.
I can deliver in the format your project requires. Bring it up when you reach out and we’ll make sure the files are ready to drop straight into your session.
Turnaround depends on the complexity and scope of the project. It’s something we’ll establish clearly upfront so you can plan around it. Client projects are always given priority.

“There’s no reason for a guitarist to have a big ego. You should love the instrument more than wanting to be a rock star””

- Randy Rhodes
